Illustration for Qiio Magazine on the myth of the hymen

Tightening creams, faux “hymens” with fake blood, and surgical procedures to supposedly restore the hymen: the booming hymen market uses the desperation of young women for its advertising purposes and builds on a misogynistic concept of female virginity.

A Qiio author wrote about the Myth of the Hymen and the influence of religion and society, as well as the booming market around hymen reconstructions. I was approached to design the header as well as an illustration for the social media channels of the magazine.
