The number of horrendous acts of violence against Asians and people that are read as Asian has risen since the COVID outbreak in 2019. From March 2020 to February 2021, there were more than 3,5k reported Asian hate crimes in the US alone – and that’s only the cases that were reported.
So, the Instagram communities @ladieswhodesign, as @feminist.jazzy, and @womenoftype came up with the idea to create illustrations to show solidarity with the Asian community.
With this illustration, I joined the fight against the virus called racism with art – because as always: One illustration might not make a big difference. But many will! #ArtinSolidarity
